All three Exile Boys teams made the gold bracket and two teams made the seimfinals at the Ambridge Tournament on Sunday.

The Exile 18 Red won their pool on Sunday, losing only one set on their way to a 3-0 pool play record on Sunday. The Exile 18 Blue won 2 of 3 matches in pool play to qualify for the Gold Bracket as well. As fate would have it, they played each other in a Gold Bracket 1st Round Playoff, where the Reds beat the Blues in a hard fought 2 set match. The 18 Red’s day ended in the semifinal round with a 2 set loss.

The 16 Reds made their second straight Gold Bracket appearance. Their day started off fast. The 16 Reds did not miss a serve and played nearly flawless volleyball to start the day with a 25-5 first set win on their way to the first of their 2 first set sweeps of the day. They lost a hard fought 2 set match to end pool play in 2nd place, and in the semifinal playoff lost in 2 sets to end their day. The two teams they lost to were the 2 finalists in the tournament.

The boys have this weekend off from tournament play as the Exile Girls start their tournament seasons this weekend. All seven girls teams will be entered in tournaments this weekend. We’ll have more details on those tournaments later in the week.
