Exile Boys play well at Hiram; 2 Gold brackets and a Bronze Playoff Win highlight the day
1/5/2019

All three Exile Boys teams had some strong performances at their second tournament of the season at Hiram College on Saturday.

The 16 Red had a strong performance starting with 2 wins in preliminary pool play.  They followed that up with another 2-0 record in the placement pool.  This advanced the 16 Reds to the Gold bracket semifinals.  The day ended with their only loss in that semifinal, but they may have played their best volleyball of the day in that match, which allowed the 16 Reds to reach a 3rd place finish in the 9 team tournament.

The 18 Red also started their day 2-0 on their way to a 2nd place finish in pool play, which advanced them to the Gold bracket.  Their day ended in the Gold bracket playoffs with a first round playoff loss.  The 18 Reds finished the day in 5th place of the 15 team tournament.

The 18 Blue got off to a slow start but rebounded with a strong performance in the playoff portion of the tournament.  The 18 Blues won both thier semifinal match in the Bronze bracket and then won the Final to take the Bronze bracket playoff.

All three boys teams will return to practice on Monday and go back to tournament play on Sunday at the Ambridge Tournament.  Pool play will be announced later this week, with the tournament scheduled to start play at 9 am.
